Lesson 1: Descriptive Writing and Sensory imagery
We will look at a descriptive essay and then write our own. In reading the sample, we will look for techniques that effectively help the reader visualize the scene. Sensory imagery will be key to effective descriptive writing.

Lesson 3: Interpretive Reading and All the Troubles of the World
Today we will introduce Interpretive Reading (an option for this year's public speaking competition) and practice these skills while reading and working with Asimov's All the Troubles of the World.
